Registration for Michigan Business Taxes

This process is easy, secure, convenient and faster than registering by mail. You can receive your new Sales Tax License in as little as 8-10 business days! Employers who are acquiring/purchasing a business may also register online.
- Do not complete Form 518 if you expect to make retail sales at only one or two events in Michigan per year. Instead complete Concessionaire's Sales Tax Return and Payment (2271).
- Register for Streamlined Sales Tax Project
Once you have registered your business it is important to note that you must also use this process when you discontinue or sell your business.
