Anne Zerbe, Chief Executive Officer, Michigan Veteran Homes

Anne Zerbe is the executive director of Michigan Veteran Homes (MVH), appointed by Governor Gretchen Whitmer on September 25, 2019. She is appointed to serve for a term expiring at the pleasure of the governor.

The position of executive director of the MVH was created in 2018 to administer the business operations of existing veteran homes, new construction of veteran homes developed and operated under the Michigan Veteran Facility Authority's statute and the authority itself. The executive director also serves as CEO of the existing MVH and will facilitate the transition to one unified system of management and operation for existing and new veteran homes. 

Ms. Zerbe previously held the position of transition executive for the Michigan Veteran Homes since August 2018. In that role, she has developed current and long-range plans and policies to support the strategic objectives of the MVH Board of Directors; developed and implemented a transition plan related to governance, oversight and future operations of all new state veteran homes; directed the day-to-day duties of MVH staff. Prior to working with the MVH, Ms. Zerbe was vice president of business affairs for the Michigan Veterans Health System where she oversaw the business offices of Michigan’s two state veteran skilled nursing facilities.  

Zerbe earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and American Culture from the University of Michigan, a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida, and Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan.
