Statewide Veteran Service Provision Grant

The Statewide Veteran Service Provision Grant (SVSPG) is a competitive grant that is intended to increase the number of veterans applying for service-connected disability compensation, the number of VA healthcare enrollment applications and the number of all other benefit claims. In FY25, more than $4 million was distributed to the Michigan Veterans Coalition, which is comprised of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Vietnam Veterans of America.

Who is Eligible?
The SVSPG grant is limited to organizations that are either recognized by the federal Department of Veterans Affairs Office of General Counsel or those that hold a congressional charter and can employ state-accredited veteran service officers to prepare claims for benefits administered by the federal Veteran Benefit Administration.
