Childcare Assistance Program
The Childcare Assistance Program provides childcare assistance during weekend drill and annual training for eligible single soldier or dual military members.
Application Process
Each service member will need to create an account in Sigma and be given a Vendor ID to receive a reimbursement. Reimbursements are sent either by direct deposit into a savings/checking account or can be sent via check.
To set up an account in Sigma, please go to AdvantageVSS - SIGMA VSS.
Make sure that your address and bank account information are accurate and make note of your Vendor ID.
Submit quarterly requests for Childcare Assistance Reimbursement at Submit Reimbursement Request.
- Submissions must be within 30 days of the end of the quarter.
- Submission dates per quarter:
- Quarter 1 (January - March): Requests accepted April 1st.
- Quarter 2 (April - June): Requests accepted July 1st.
- Quarter 3 (July - September): Requests accepted October 1st.
- Quarter 4 (October - December): Requests accepted January 1st.
- **Early submissions will not be accepted.
- Submission dates per quarter:
- Include your Readiness NCO's or Chain of Command's email address for certification.
- Active M-Day Soldiers and DSG Airmen and must be in good standing.
- Is not under MCMJ (Michigan Code of Military Justice).
- Is not AWOL (Absent Without Leave).
- Is not under suspension of favorable actions (Army) or adverse administrative actions (Air) in accordance with applicable regulation and policy.
- Is not flagged for the Service Fitness Test within the last 12 months for M-DAY Soldiers and Airmen; or has a physical profile exempting them from completing a fitness test.
- Is not flagged for Height/Weight (HT/WT) and must have a compliant date within no greater than 8 months prior to applying for the benefit for M-DAY.
- Service member is a single Soldier or Airman or is dual military.
- Service Member on Title 10 or Title 32 AGR orders are not eligible.
- Service member has completed Advanced Individual or Technical Training.
- Dependent Child 12 and under.
Reimbursement Amount
Childcare Assistance Program pays $60 per day, per dependent for weekend drills and annual training, up to a maximum of 39 days each year.
Assistance is funded based on a first come, first served basis as determined by the submission date of the reimbursement request. This benefit will be paused when available funds are exhausted.

What is Dual Military?
Dual Military is defined when both parents are eligible service members and both are drilling at the same time. Only one parent can submit for assistance.

Does the childcare provider need to be a licensed daycare?
No, you do not need to have a licensed daycare provider.

Direct Deposit, make sure you create an account with VSS.

What if I do not select the EFT option in SIGMA?
You will receive a check to the address that is in the system when you set up your Vendor account.
