CROWN: April 2021 - Equity Office Highlights Women's History Month
On March 5, Alfredo Hernandez announced an internal Women's History Month initiative to honor and celebrate women not only in our department, but statewide and around the world.
Staff were encouraged to share their favorite books, woman-owned businesses, and historical figures, as well as attend the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Third Annual Women Filmmakers Festival. This annual festival highlights women artists "working outside the Hollywood game, making their own rules and seeking adventurous audiences for their bold visions". The event took place virtually and released a new film each week throughout March.
Here are some favorites that our staff shared:

The Women's History Month initiative culminated in a virtual meeting with Mary Engelman to reflect on the past month.
