Carla Schulte
Deputy Director of Enforcement
Carla Schulte joined the Michigan Gaming Control Board in October 2012 as a Regulation Officer and has steadily advanced through the agency over the years. She was promoted to Departmental Manager of the Millionaire Party Licensing and Supplier Vendor Licensing Section in August 2013, then to Licensing & Investigations Manager in April 2015, and to Enforcement Section Manager in January 2016. Between 2018 and 2019, she assumed additional responsibilities overseeing the Gaming Laboratory and Responsible Gaming Sections.
In June 2021, Ms. Schulte was appointed Deputy Director of the Casino Operations Division, where she oversaw the regulatory functions of the three Detroit casinos — including occupational licensing for casino, iGaming, and iSports operations — as well as the casino operational and historical audits, gaming lab matters, and responsible gaming.
Following an agency reorganization in early 2026, Ms. Schulte now serves as Deputy Director of the Enforcement Division, which encompasses Casino Enforcement, iGaming Enforcement, Employee Licensing, and the Gaming Lab.
Prior to joining the MGCB, Ms. Schulte served for more than two decades with the Anchorage Police Department in Anchorage, Alaska, specializing in domestic violence and crimes against children. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Services and Criminal Justice from Wayland Baptist University.
