Purses with a Purpose - Houghton Lake Post

The Michigan State Police (MSP) Houghton Lake Post is gathering new or gently used purses, bags, or backpacks filled with comfort items to benefit the River House domestic and sexual abuse shelter. 

Donations are being accepted at the:

• MSP Houghton Lake Post - Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Houghton Lake Walmart - Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Suggested donation items (female or male):

• Deodorant
• Tweezers
• Ear plugs
• Sleep eye mask
• Hairbrush           
• Hair care products
• Socks                     
• Foot care products
• Shaving kits         
• Lip balm
• Makeup 
• Feminine hygiene products 
• Individual-sized toiletries like cotton swabs and balls, shampoo, conditioner, etc.
