Senior Stroll - Zekelman Holocaust Center
Senior Stroll - Zekelman Holocaust Center
Join a naturalist for a casual stroll through one of our state parks or local historic areas. Each month, we’ll focus on a topic related to natural or cultural history. Wear your walking shoes and dress for the weather – we’ll go out rain, snow or shine! Meet at the designated location. Trail conditions vary – see descriptions.
A guided tour of the exhibit invites visitors to explore the history of the Holocaust through personal stories, historical context, and meaningful reflection on human choices. Beginning with vibrant Jewish life before the war, visitors follow the progression of the Holocaust through the personal stories of those who experienced persecution, survival, and resistance. The program also includes a presentation from a Next Generation speaker who shares their family's Holocaust story, offering a powerful personal perspective on the lasting impact of the Holocaust across generations. Grounded in The Holocaust Center's mission to engage, educate, and empower, the tour challenges visitors to reflect on their own role in society and inspires them to stand up to hate and make a positive difference in their communities.
The program includes a brief seated video, a guided tour of the museum's first-floor exhibits, and a 30-minute presentation from a guest speaker. While the content can be emotional and thought-provoking, designated areas throughout the museum allow visitors to sit, reflect, or step away as needed. The museum also offers free onsite parking and a gift shop.
Note that this is an offsite program taking place at Zekelman Holocaust Center.
Preregistration is required. Cost is $6 per person.
