Chelsea Moore
Wellness Technician
Since the beginning of my time with the Michigan Department of Corrections Wellness Unit, I knew I was where I was supposed to be. I joined a team of individuals who are making a difference every day, and I am honored to serve in my role of Wellness Technician for such a talented team of kind and caring staff. Being able to take care of a team that takes care of others each day is a true blessing.
Prior to my time with MDOC, I worked for over 7 years in medical insurance, where I invested much of my time volunteering in Diversity and Inclusion initiatives, primarily focusing on the importance of a multigenerational workforce. I also coached a competitive dance team for 4 years where I realized how much I strived working in a team setting. All my experience has helped me fit well into my role with the Wellness Unit and I am continuing to look for ways to learn and build my skills every day.
I was born in the Upper Peninsula but have lived most of my life in the Lower Peninsula. The Upper Peninsula is my home away from home with many family members still there. Because of this, I make it a priority to visit as often as I can and I truly love Michigan. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, event planning/decorating, house projects, reading, and doing everything or nothing at all with my husband and daughter (my favorite human beings).
