The Michigan Parole Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, January 8, 2007, to consider the possible parole of James E. Corbett, #116680. It will be at 10:30 a.m. at the T-100 Training Center, G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility, Jackson, Michigan.
James E. Corbett is serving a Life sentence for Murder 2nd Degree. He was sentenced on March 8, 1977 from Wayne County.
Barbara Sampson, Chairperson of the Michigan Parole Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of the Lifer Law, MCLA 791.234. Under the Lifer Law, those serving life sentences for a crime committed prior to October 1, 1992, other than first-degree murder or certain drug law cases, must serve ten calendar years before the parole board can obtain jurisdiction.
