The Michigan Parole Board will hold a public hearing on March 11, 2009, to consider the possible commutation of sentence for Joe Powell, #231586. It will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the T-100 Training Center, G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility, Jackson, Michigan.
Joe Powell was sentenced from Oakland County on June 7, 1993 for the crime of Possession of Cocaine 50-224 Grams to serve a 10y - 20y sentence; on November 4, 1998 for the crime of Delivery of Cocaine 50-224 Grams (2 Counts) to serve a 10y - 20y sentence on each count; on November 4, 1998 for the crime of Delivery of Cocaine 50-224 Grams to serve a 10y - 20y sentence.
The hearing is required under MCLA 791.244 prior to any recommendation for executive clemency by the Michigan Parole Board.
