The Michigan Parole Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, to consider the possible parole of Basam Jarges, #221331. It will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Handlon, Richard A. Correctional Facility, Ionia, MI.
Basam Jarges is serving a Life sentence for the crime of Conspiracy to Deliver Cocaine Over 650 Grams. He was sentenced on February 26, 1991 from Oakland County.
Barbara Sampson, Chairperson of the Michigan Parole Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of the Lifer Law, MCLA 791.234.
By Statute, prisoners serving a life sentence under MCL 333.74012A1, must serve 15, 17 1/2 or 20 calendar years, based on predetermined factors, before the parole and commutation board can obtain jurisdiction.
