The public hearing scheduled for Monday, June 22, 2009 , to consider the possible parole of Farouk Jajo, #196568 at 11:00 a.m. at the Handlon Training Center has been rescheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. at the Handlon Training Center, Richard Handlon Correctional Facility, Ionia, MI.
Farouk Jajo is serving a Life sentence for the crime of Possession with Intent to Deliver Over 650 Grams of Cocaine. He was sentenced on October 14, 1988 from Wayne County.
Barbara Sampson, Chairperson of the Michigan Parole and Commutation Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of the Lifer Law, MCLA 791.234.
By Statute, prisoners serving a life sentence under MCL 333.74012A1, must serve 15, 17 1/2 or 20 calendar years, based on predetermined factors, before the parole and commutation board can obtain jurisdiction.
