A public hearing to consider the possible pardon of sentence for Joan Gabrielle Purkey

The Michigan Parole and Commutation Board will hold a public hearing on Monday, August 24, 2009 to consider the possible pardon of sentence for Joan Gabrielle Purkey. It will be held at 9:00 a.m. at the Grand Tower, Dempsey Conference Room, 1st Floor, 235 South Grand Avenue, Lansing, Michigan.
Joan Gabrielle Purkey was sentenced to 5 years probation and $3,499 in Fees/Costs/Restitution for the crime of Felony Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. She was sentenced on August 1, 2000, from Oakland County.
Barbara S. Sampson, Chairperson of the Michigan Parole and Commutation Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of MCLA 791.244 prior to any recommendation for executive clemency by the Parole and Commutation Board.
This hearing is required by state law prior to consideration of any pardon by the Governor.
