A public hearing to consider the possible parole of Mario Santana, #238893

The Michigan Parole and Commutation Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, September 3, 2009 to consider the possible parole of Mario Santana, #238893.  It will be at 11:00 a.m. at the Handlon Training Center, Richard Handlon Correctional Facility, Ionia, MI.

Mario Santana is serving a Life sentence for the crime of Possession With Intent to Deliver Over 650 Grams of Cocaine.  He was sentenced on August 26, 1994 from Wayne County.

Barbara Sampson, Chairperson of the Michigan Parole and Commutation Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of the Lifer Law, MCLA 791.234.

By Statute, prisoners serving a life sentence under MCL 333.74012A1, must serve 15, 17 1/2 or 20 calendar years, based on predetermined factors, before the parole and commutation board can obtain jurisdiction.
