The search is ongoing for Rowvontae Tarrell Walker, who absconded from parole in Detroit on Wednesday Feb. 3, 2016.

At approximately 2:49 p.m. parolee Walker (#888214) exited Lawton Parole Office, 5300 Lawton Street in Detroit, through a rear door after being detained for questioning in connection with a carjacking.

“Our first priority is to find and return this parolee to custody,” said Michigan Department of Corrections Director Heidi Washington.  “We are asking for help from the public to contact the police or to call 911 if you have information that would assist in the investigation.”

Walker is 19 years old and has a mole on the right side of his face. He has tattoos on his right forearm, lower right arm, back and chest. He is 5’10’’ and approximately 160 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.

Walker was incarcerated in Sept. 2013 after being sentenced for an unarmed robbery that occurred in Detroit. He paroled in Sept. 2015.

The Department of Corrections and its Absconder Recovery Unit continues to work in connection with local law enforcement, including the Detroit Police Department, to apprehend this offender.

Those in the community should be sure to lock their vehicles and homes. Citizens who spot Walker should not approach him and should call 911 immediately.
