Officials apprehend parole absconder Rowvontae Tarrell Walker
The search has ended for Rowvontae Tarrell Walker, who absconded from parole in Detroit on
Wednesday Feb. 3, 2016.
Walker was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service at approximately 10:10 p.m. Thursday, Feb.
4 after authorities found him hiding under a mattress at a home on Dalby Street in Redford.
He is being lodged at the Detroit Reentry Center.
The Department of Corrections and its Absconder Recovery Unit worked in connection with the U.S.
Marshals Service Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team and Detroit Police Department
to follow leads that resulted in the apprehension of this offender.
“We’re grateful for the help of our partners in law enforcement and their efforts to capture this
absconder,” said Department of Corrections Director Heidi Washington.
At approximately 2:49 p.m. Feb. 3, parolee Walker (#888214) exited Lawton Parole Office, 5300 Lawton
Street in Detroit, through a rear door after being detained for questioning in connection with a carjacking.
Walker, 19, was incarcerated in Sept. 2013 after being sentenced for an unarmed robbery that occurred in
Detroit. He paroled in Sept. 2015.
