FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MDOC Searching For Prisoner Released From Oakland County Jail
The search is ongoing for prisoner Johnny Rodgers after he was mistakenly released by Oakland County Jail officials on Aug. 24.
At 6:03 p.m. prisoner Rodgers (MDOC #968212) was released in error from the Oakland County Jail. Rodgers was in the custody of Oakland County while on a writ for a court appearance. Following the court appearance, he should have been returned to MDOC custody, but was instead released from the jail.
The Department of Corrections, Michigan State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service are working in conjunction to apprehend the prisoner.
Rodgers, 25, is serving a seven to 15 year sentence for assault with intent to commit murder, armed robbery and felony firearms out of Wayne committed in 2014. The prisoner’s earliest release date is 7/29/2024.
Rodgers should be considered dangerous and should not be approached, should he be spotted. If you see Rodgers, call 911 or the Michigan State Police at 1-855-MICH-TIP (1-855-642-4847) immediately.
