A public hearing to consider the possible pardon of sentence for Aaron Suganuma

The Michigan Parole Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., to consider the possible pardon of sentence for Aaron Suganuma. The hearing will be conducted via video through Microsoft Teams and can be accessed by clicking HERE.
Those planning to access the hearing must call 517-335-1736 no later than January 2, 2024, to confirm attendance.
Aaron Suganuma was sentenced to a term of 30 days jail (2 days credit), 180 days jail suspended upon payment of court fines and costs, and $633 F/C/R (Fines/Costs/Restitution) for the crime of Controlled Substance Use (Narcotics/Cocaine/Methamphetamine/Ecstasy). Aaron Suganuma was also sentenced to a term of 30 days jail (2 days credit) for the crime of Weapons-Switchblade-Possession or Sale. Aaron Suganuma was sentenced on August 16, 2002, out of Ingham County.
Aaron Suganuma was sentenced to two terms of 18 months probation, outpatient substance abuse treatment, and $800 F/C/R (Fines/Costs/Restitution) for the crime of Controlled Substance-Deliver/ Manufacture (Non-Narcotic) (two counts). Aaron Suganuma was sentenced on December 19, 2002, out of Washtenaw County.
Aaron Suganuma was also sentenced to a term of 4 years 3 months to 10 years, and $1,400 F/C/R (Fines/ Costs/Restitution) for the crime of Robbery Armed. Aaron Suganuma was sentenced on January 20, 2005, out of Washtenaw County.
Brian Shipman, Chairman of the Michigan Parole Board, will conduct the hearing under the provisions of MCLA 791.244 prior to any recommendation for executive clemency by the Parole Board.
This hearing is required by state law prior to consideration of any pardon by the Governor.
