Staff Sgt. Kirt Runyan retires
LANSING, Mich. (April 8, 2018) - Staff Sgt. Kirt D. Runyan of Durand, Mich., has retired after 22 years of military service. Runyan was assigned to the 272nd Regional Support Group as the Unit Logistics Noncommissioned Officer. He served in the Michigan Army National Guard for 12 years.
Runyan attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina then Advanced Individual Training at the Naval Technical Training Center, Pensacola, Florida.
During his military career, Runyan attended the Electronic Warfare Non-Morse Operator’s course, the Electronic Intelligence Intercept course, a Senior Signal Analyst course, Human Intelligence Collector course, U.S. Army Human Resources course and a U.S. Army Logistics course.
Throughout his career, Runyan achieved several service awards and decorations including two Meritorious Service Medals, four Army Commendation Medals, one State of Michigan Legion of Merit Medal and one Joint Service Commendation Medal.
Runyan has been married for 21 years to Paula R. (Brady) Runyan.
During his retirement Runyan plans to enjoy time with his wife, three sons, Nick, Matt and Tyler and their three grandchildren.
