Michigan DMVA FY27 County Veteran Service Fund Grant Letter of Intent Due Friday

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) today reminded counties that the deadline to submit Letters of Intent (LOIs) for the Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) County Veteran Service Fund (CVSF) grant program is this Friday. To remain eligible for FY27 CVSF grant funding, counties must submit their CVSF LOI to DMVA-Grants@michigan.gov no later than 5 p.m. DST on Friday, April 24, 2026. The DMVA anticipates that $4,041,500 in grant funding will be available to support veteran services across all 83 Michigan counties.

Submitting an LOI is the required first step in the grant process and is necessary to maintain eligibility. The LOI does not create any legal obligation to apply for or accept funding. The CVSF grant program is designed to help counties establish or enhance veteran service offices and expand local capacity to connect Michigan veterans with their earned federal benefits.

CVSF grant awards are dependent on legislative appropriation. Each participating county will receive a minimum award of $50,000, with the potential for additional per capita funding distributed on a reimbursement basis, subject to fund availability. Award calculations will be finalized and communicated at a later date in accordance with Public Act 210 of 2018, which amended PA 152 of 1953.

Counties that submit an LOI but later choose not to apply for funding are asked to notify DMVA promptly, as this may affect per capita disbursements for other participating counties.

“We look forward to receiving LOIs for the FY27 grant cycle and continuing our collaborative work to strengthen veteran services across Michigan,” said Marie Douville, program manager for the Michigan DMVA. “Counties with questions or concerns are encouraged to reach out directly for assistance.”

For more information or to submit an LOI, counties should contact Program Manager Marie Douville at DMVA-Grants@michigan.gov.
