Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center to Host Boots on the Ground Heroes Memorial and Ceremony on July 11

LANSING, Mich. — Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center (CGJMTC), in collaboration with the Michigan Army National Guard (MIARNG) Survivor Outreach Services Team, will display a Boots on the Ground Heroes Memorial and host a ceremony to honor fallen service members on July 11 at 11 a.m. The ceremony will include remarks by Maj. Gen. Scott Hiipikka, commanding general for the 46th Military Police Command, and a performance of Taps.

The event is open to all branches of the military and the team is asking the public to bring one combat boot per fallen service member to be displayed outside the entrance to Camp Grayling. If you do not have a boot, one will be provided. This memorial is open to any service member or veteran who has passed, not just in combat. The MIARNG Survivor Outreach Services Team will supply a flag and one name tag per boot.
