MITN Operator Training

MITN Operator Training

The Commission provides training for individuals authorized by their law enforcement agency to serve as MCOLES Information and Tracking Network (MITN) Operators. Follow the steps below to become a MITN Operator or to remove MITN access for an existing operator.

  • Become a MITN Operator

    • Complete MITN Operator Training through the MCOLES Education Center (MEC).
    • If you do not have an MEC account, you will need to create one (instructions provided on the MEC page).
    • Training covers key MITN functions and requires a score of 80% or higher on the knowledge check to receive a certificate of completion.
    • Submit your certificate and completed MITN Operator Agreement to MSP-MCOLES-Licensing@michigan.gov or fax to 517-636-7886.
  • Remove MITN Operator Access

When an individual no longer requires MITN access, the agency should remove their access using one of the following methods:

    • (Preferred) The Key MITN Operator removes the individual’s access in MITN, prints the resulting report, obtains the required signatures, and submits to Commission.
    • (Alternative) Complete the User Agreement Addendum, obtain the required signatures, and submits to Commission.
    • Forms may be emailed to MSP-MCOLES-Licensing@michigan.gov or faxed to 517-636-7886.
