The State’s Fiscal Year 2027 Budget includes a significant reduction in CPE Program funding. Commission staff is assessing 2027 program costs and will provide an update once agency allocations are determined. CPE disbursements are anticipated in December 2026.
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is the annual in-service training program for licensed law enforcement officers. CPE supports and enhances ongoing professional development for the law enforcement community. This page serves as a guide to CPE training standards, compliance expectations, training opportunities, quick reference guidelines, funding resources and access to the MCOLES Education Center (MEC).
Free, CPE-approved training opportunities are available to qualified law enforcement, prosecutors, court personnel, and victim service providers to strengthen responses to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
