The Commission is responsible for establishing, publishing and enforcing the licensing standards for Michigan’s law enforcement officers, as established under Public Act 203 of 1965 (MCOLES Act). Working closely with basic training academies and law enforcement agencies, the Commission oversees recruit training and the licensing process to ensure Michigan’s communities are served by qualified and well-trained law enforcement officers.

Access the MCOLES Information and Tracking Network (MITN)

MITN is a secure, internet-based application used by law enforcement agencies and authorized entities to conduct business and personnel transactions with MCOLES in compliance with Commission statutes and administrative rules. MITN was established in response to Executive Order 2001-5 to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and support statewide reporting and compliance needs.
