CROWN: April 2021 - Michigan Works! Association Taps Alfredo Hernandez for Virtual Discussion on D.E.I. in the Workplace

Equity Officer Alfredo Hernandez was invited to participate in a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion panel discussion on racial equity with the Michigan Works! Association on March 5, 2021. The program was designed to reach business leaders on important considerations around racial equity. The panel discussed the four dimensions of racism, the work of the Detroit Equity Action Lab and the Black Leadership Advisory Council, the impact of structural racism, and racial equity in the workplace. Other accomplished panelists were Asandi Conner, Director of the Detroit Equity Action Lab at Wayne State University; Rochelle Riley, Director of Arts and Culture for the City of Detroit and Co-Chair of Governor Whitmer's Black Leadership Advisory Council; and Robert Womack, Kent County Commissioner and Co-Chair of Governor Whitmer's Black Leadership Advisory Council. This session was the second Michigan Works! Association event featuring Alfredo's expertise on all things DEI.
