ADA Compliance Division (ADACD)
March 2021
On March 30, 2021, the ADACD is hosting Robin Jones, Director of the Great Lakes ADA Centers, who will present “ADA- Title I, Title II and Title III” to the ADACs.
Kudos to the ADACD and the DODDBHH on the collaboration with the Department of Natural Resources and the Michigan History Center (MHC). MHC is doing video interviews with past and present disability advocates in Michigan. The ADACD and DODBHH worked with the MHC on a proposal for $2,000 to cover the costs for accommodations. These accommodations will make the interviews accessible with American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters and CART (Communication Access Realtime Captioning). MHC was awarded the entire amount they requested. Great teamwork!
The ADACD also wants to say a huge “THANK YOU!” to David Jones and Tiara Yakini in the Enforcement division. David and Tiara presented trainings with the ADACD on February 23 and February 24 on how to investigate disability complaints. The training was well received and the department ADA coordinators appreciated their insight and expertise.
