Equity Office
May 2021
The Equity Office remains actively engaged in the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) with state agencies, local government, communities, and organizations across the state.
In the month of May, the Equity Office will begin the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) one-on-one coaching sessions with Midland Area Community Foundation. The Equity Office is scheduled to conduct implicit bias training for the City of Chelsea Human Rights Commission and continues to facilitate sessions with MDCR's Council for Government and Education on Equity and Inclusion with a focus on MCRC's Education Equity Report.
The Equity Office is currently expanding its work with a new LGBTQ equity technician position and the office continues to play an integral part in the COVID-19 Task Force on Racial Disparities. The Equity Office also closely works with the Equity and Inclusion Officer (EIO) in the Executive Office and EIO's throughout the state to improve the internal DEI structure across all state departments.
