What is the Council?

A 13-person body, of which a minimum of seven must be Deaf, DeafBlind or Hard of Hearing. The members are appointed by the Governor and serve for a term of three years. The Council provides advice and public feedback to the Division and advocates on behalf of the targeted populations in Michigan.

January, 2026 - Detroit 

Location: Cadillac Building, First Floor L1503044 West Grand Blvd, Detroit, MI 48202

Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

April 24, 2026 - Kalamazoo

Location: Kalamazoo Valley Community College Texas Township Campus, Room 4370/4380, 6767 West O Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49009

Time: 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.

CART and ASL interpreters will be provided. If you need additional accommodations, please contact Emma Heisey at HeiseyE1@michigan.gov by April 3.
