Not Without Us Survey Results
The Michigan Department of Civil Rights is pleased to share the Not Without Us—A Census and Needs Assessment for Michigan’s Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing Communities viewbook. The viewbook presents selected findings from the statewide census survey and needs assessment in a variety of domains, including:
- Communication preferences and access
- Education and employment
- Access to healthcare and government services
- Housing and transportation
- Priorities for state programs and policies
The census and needs assessment are part of a larger effort to understand the experiences, preferences, and needs of Michigan residents who are Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing. These findings should support communication and outreach between these communities, the public, and the state.
