Snyder makes appointment to Civil Rights Commission

Lansing – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced the appointment of Ricardo Resio, of Saginaw, to the Michigan Civil Rights Commission.

The eight-member board protects civil rights and investigates alleged discrimination against any person. No more than four members can be from the same political party.

"Ricardo brings strong experience to the commission," said Snyder. "I am confident he will do great work."

Resio is director of human resources at Merrill Technologies Group. He was also director of human resources for The Rehmann Group and served as the employee relations supervisor for the Michigan Sugar Co. Resio was awarded the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from Central Michigan University’s College of Business Administration, where he earned a bachelor of business administration. He represents Republicans and replaces Jared Rodriguez.

Resio will serve a four-year term expiring Dec. 31, 2018. His appointment is subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
