Cortney Morgret

DHHS Wellness Counselor, LLMSW

Cortney provides assessment, short-term problem resolution, referral, and follow-up services for Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) employees and family members. Cortney has 17 years of experience in child welfare with DHHS.  She has worked as a foster care specialist, cps ongoing specialist, and MYOI Coordinator.  Cortney was promoted as a program manager in child welfare in 2017.  Cortney’s education includes a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Eastern Michigan University.  Cortney is also certified by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) to provide critical incident stress management services.  Cortney’s areas of interest include raising awareness on secondary traumatic stress and its effects, advocating for trauma informed services, promoting healthy work cultures, and helping staff develop personalized self-care strategies for safety and wellness.
