During the month of December and the holiday season, ESP encourages State of Michigan employees and their family members to prioritize their own personal wellness. While this may be a special time for celebration, it is often filled with activities, events, obligations, and expectations. Managing and navigating these, along with our own feelings and needs, can be difficult at times. Setting aside time for self-care, focusing on gratitude, and identifying opportunities to help others are just a few ways to connect with the joys of the season.
For more information and resources, please contact ESP at 1-800-521-1377 to speak confidentially with a counselor. Counselors are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

ESP Spotlight:
Below are the current ESP offerings. Please click on the corresponding link for more information and scheduling details.
On November 19, we will host a Warrior Meditation, created by the Save a Warrior Program, designed to support veteran and first responder wellness and mental health. Whether you are new to mindfulness and meditation or a regular practitioner, we hope you will join us. The session will last from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m.

On November 20, we will also host a veteran resources presentation, outlining some of the federal, state, and local resources available to veterans in support of mental health, including an overview of different support organizations. Whether you are a veteran navigating these systems or supporting a veteran in your life, all are welcome. The presentation will last from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Weekly Mindfulness Breaks - In response to employee requests for more mindfulness practice opportunities, ESP will continue to offer 15-minute mindfulness breaks every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
Monthly Manager Sessions - Managing programs and leading others can be daunting, but this is especially true during times of constant change and uncertainty. ESP now offers monthly sessions for managers focused on providing strategies and topical resources to assist with current challenges and stressors.
Wellness Wednesday Webinars
ESP's Wellness Wednesday Webinars are now offered the first Wednesday of every month, with a new topic featured each month.
All webinars are offered for State of Michigan employees through a Teams Live Event without the need for appointments or registration. Please visit the Wellness Wednesday Webinars page for descriptions and details.
