Recognizing Secondary Traumatic Stress and Compassion Fatigue in our Employees and Ourselves
For many managers, the past several years have been an especially challenging time. There have been new stressors related to the world around us, as well as in the workplace. The impact of this stress can look different for everyone and may result in trauma and compassion fatigue reactions in employees and ourselves. This session will help you to better understand symptoms of trauma and compassion fatigue, how these reactions can impact the workplace, and strategies and techniques for coping.
Objectives:
- Increase understanding of Secondary Traumatic Stress (STS) and compassion fatigue
- Gain insight into potential symptoms and impacts of STS and compassion fatigue in yourself and your employees
- Learn methods for coping with STS and navigating compassion fatigue
