Understanding Trauma and Building Resiliency
In the last several years, we have experienced a variety of new and particularly stressful situations. As a result, many people have experienced their own trauma reactions as well as been impacted by community and global trauma. In addition, many have experienced secondary trauma when supporting others who have experienced distressing events. This session will assist you in recognizing trauma reactions, understanding the impact, and strategies to mitigate the toll trauma can take by building resiliency.
Objectives:
- Define and discuss the impact of trauma
- Learn about trauma responses/reactions
- Discuss coping skills, self-care, and resiliency
