Eligibility

You are eligible to enroll in the Benefits for Life plans below if you are a Defined Benefit (DB) State Employee Retirement System (SERS) Retiree or a Defined Benefit (DB) State Police Retirement System Retiree who is currently receiving a pension.

Supplemental Term Life Insurance

Your spouse and eligible children. Children are covered up to age 26*.

Auto and Home Insurance

Liberty Mutual: All resident family members of benefit eligible, active employees.

Farmers GroupSelect: Resident family members of benefit eligible, active employees may be covered under the eligible employee policies in accordance with policy terms.

Legal Plan

Your spouse and eligible children. Children are covered up to age 26*.

Identity Theft

Dependent children and up to 10 adults (spouse/partner, dependent parents and dependent children ages 18-26). Dependent children ages 18-26 and dependent parents are eligible for consultation and restoration services only.*

Discount Plan

All State of Michigan SERS, SPRS, JRS, MRS, LRS, Defined Benefit, and Defined Contribution retirees may participate in the Discount Plan.

*Dependent children are now eligible up to age 26. This change was effective on July 1, 2011.
