Office of Classifications and Selections
Compensation
The Office of Compensation provides systems designed to attract, retain, and develop a highly competent state work force. This area develops and administers the compensation plan for the classified service, coordinates implementation of pay actions approved by the Civil Service Commission, and assists state agencies with compensation issues and processing performance-pay requests. Staff also supports recommendation processes for the State Officers, Compensation Commission, the Coordinated Compensation Panel, and the unclassified service.
Applicant Assessment
This area supports the agency service teams. They are responsible for examination administration activities, including scheduling, security, test administration, (including reasonable accommodations), and scoring. This area also handles the American Indian designation program, twelve-month and return-to-work trial appointment programs, veterans preference, and employment history inquiries.
Agency Service Teams
Civil Service has assigned a service team to each state department to assist with classification, selection, and recruitment heads.
