State Personnel Director Official Communication 10-08
|September 3, 2010
|TO:||ALL APPOINTING AUTHORITIES, HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICERS, AND RECOGNIZED EMPLOYEE ORGANIZATIONS
|FROM:||JEREMY S. STEPHENS STATE PERSONNEL DIRECTOR
|SUBJECT:||CIVIL SERVICE REGULATIONS 3.04, SELECTION OF EMPLOYEES FOR POSITION VACANCIES, 3.08, ESTABLISHMENT, USE, AND DURATION OF APPLICANT POOLS MAINTAINED BY CIVIL SERVICE, AND 3.12, RETURN-TO-WORK APPOINTMENTS|
|Proposed changes to the Civil Service regulations listed above were circulated for review and comment under SPDOC 10-06, dated May 7, 2010. The proposed revisions, most of which are due to the implementation of NEOGOV, have been incorporated along with changes suggested when the regulations were circulated.
In addition, regulation 3.03, Selection of Employees for Position Vacancies When Using a Certified Applicant Pool Maintained by Civil Service, is no longer needed because any necessary language has been incorporated into regulation 3.04. Therefore, regulation 3.03 has been abolished effective May 30, 2010.
The attached regulations are now being issued with an effective date of August 22, 2010.
Questions regarding these regulations may be directed to Janet McClelland, Chief Deputy Director, Civil Service Commission, P.O. Box 30002, Lansing, Michigan, 48909.
