FROM: JANET MCCLELLAND, ACTING STATE PERSONNEL DIRECTOR

SUBJECT: CIVIL SERVICE REGULATIONS 1.04, REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION, AND 3.11, WRITTEN, ELECTRONIC, AND OTHER APPRAISAL METHOD ADMINISTRATION

Proposed changes to Regulation 1.04, Reasonable Accommodation, and Regulation 3.11, Written, Electronic, and Other Appraisal Method Administration, were circulated for review and comment under SPDOC 13-10, dated October 4, 2013.

These changes clarify the method for submitting and processing accommodation requests, including non-written requests. Forms will be changed to clarify that medical statements are not required for every accommodation request.

In addition, Regulation 1.04 now specifies that Regulation 3.11 provides procedures for applicants to request accommodations in application, appraisal, and selection processes.

The attached regulations are now being issued with an effective date of January 5, 2014.
