New MGCB Web Site Is Online
March 08, 2002
March 8, 2002, East Lansing, MI
Today, the executive director of the Michigan Gaming Control Board, Nelson Westrin, announced the launching of the new Michigan Gaming Control Board website. This new site www.michigan.gov/mgcb is more interactive, as it allows users to access MGCB's data and regulatory information on the Detroit casinos in a more efficient and user-friendly manner.
The redesigned site is more comprehensive and includes downloadable applications, schedules, Board meeting minutes and other necessary useful forms. The site also provides an extensive "Frequently Asked Question" section by category and the latest casino revenue and wagering tax figures. "The goals of the redesign were to make it easier for users to locate the information that they are looking for," said Mr. Westrin. "Our website is a valuable tool for both the public and the agency", he said. The new MGCB website is another addition to the State of Michigan's Website - www.michigan.gov. It displays the expanded use of a common look-and-feel throughout Michigan agency websites.
This standardization involves a uniform banner and search engine, Quick Links, and links to Michigan's privacy and security policies. This commonality makes it easier to navigate throughout the State's websites. The e-Michigan Office is the State agency established by Governor Engler in May 2000 via Executive Order 2000-6 to lead the development of Michigan.gov and coordinate all e-government initiatives taking place statewide.
