Detroit Casinos Revenues Up for January by 5.32 Percent in Comparison to the Same Month Last Year

Detroit Casino Revenues & Wagering Taxes for January 2010 For January 2010, gaming taxes for the three Detroit casinos were $10.15 million in comparison to $9.63 million for the same period last year.
Revenue for MGM Grand and Greektown Casinos were up by 3.8 percent and 15.2 percent respectively, whereas MotorCity was down by 2.4 percent in comparison to the same month last year. The Detroit gaming market shares for January 2010 for MGM, MotorCity, and Greektown were 43 percent, 32 percent, and 25 percent respectively.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board reports today that the aggregate revenue and taxes for all three Detroit casinos for January 2010 were up by 5.32 percent in comparison to the same month last year and also were up by 1.19 percent in comparison to last month (December 2009).
