DETROIT CASINO REVENUES AND WAGERING TAXES FOR FEBRUARY 2012
Casino Operations - Month of February 2012
Aggregate revenue for all three Detroit casinos for the month ended February 29, 2012 was up by 12.6% when compared to the same month last year. Also, revenue was up by 12.9% when compared to the previous month, January 2012.
Revenue for MGM, MotorCity, and Greektown were up by 13.9% to $53.4 million, 11.2% to 42.9 million and 12.3% to $32.6 million, respectively, compared to February 2011.
The market shares for MGM, MotorCity, and Greektown for February 2012 were 42%, 33%, and 25%, respectively. For the month ended February 29, 2012, gaming taxes for the three Detroit casinos were $10.4 million compared to $9.3 million for the same period last year.
