DETROIT CASINO REVENUES & WAGERING TAXES FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH 2012
Casino Operations - Month of March 2012
Aggregate revenue for the three Detroit casinos for the month ending March 31,
2012 was up by 1.9% when compared to the same month last year. Revenue was
also up by 5.0% when compared to February 2012.
Revenue for MGM and Greektown was up by 5.0% to $57.2 million, and 4.5% to
$34.6 million respectively, whereas MotorCity was down by 3.8% to $43.5 million,
when compared to March 2011.
The market shares for MGM, MotorCity, and Greektown for March 2012 were 42%, 32%, and 26%, respectively.
For the month ending March 31, 2012, gaming taxes for the three Detroit casinos
were $11.0 million compared to $10.8 million for the same period last year.
