Casino Operations - Month of May 2012
Aggregate revenue for the three Detroit casinos for the month ended May 31, 2012 was down by 1.4% when compared to the same month last year. Revenue was also down by 4.0% when compared to April 2012.
Revenue for MotorCity and Greektown was down by 4.7% to $37.0 million and 1.1% to $29.7 million, respectively, whereas MGM was up by 1.0% to $51.7 million, when compared to May 2011.
The market shares for MGM, MotorCity, and Greektown for May 2012 were 44%, 31%, and 25%, respectively.
For the month ended May 31, 2012, gaming taxes for the three Detroit casinos were $9.6 million compared to $9.7 million for the same period last year.
