DETROIT CASINO REVENUES & WAGERING TAXES FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2012
Casino Operations - August 2012
Aggregate revenue for the three Detroit casinos for the month ended August 31, 2012 was up by 1.6% when compared to the same month last year. Revenue was up 4.4% when compared to July 2012.
Revenue for MGM, MotorCity, and Greektown was up 0.4% to $49.8 million, 0.2% to $38.1 million, and 5.8% to $29.1 million, respectively, when compared to August 2011.
The market shares for MGM, MotorCity, and Greektown for August 2012 were 42%, 33%, and 25% respectively.
For the month ending August 31, 2012, gaming taxes for the three Detroit casinos were $9.5 million compared to $9.3 million for the same period last year.
