Detroit Casino Revenues and Wagering Taxes Reported for November
Detroit—The three Detroit casinos’ aggregate revenue was down 4.5 percent for the month ending Nov. 30, 2014, compared with November 2013, and November revenue was down 5.8 percent compared with October 2014.
Compared with November 2013, Greektown recorded a 2 percent revenue increase to $26.4 million, MotorCity was down 6.8 percent to $36.8 million and MGM fell 6.2 percent to $43.5 million.
Through Nov. 30, the Detroit casinos’ year-to-date aggregate revenue was down 2.2 percent compared with the first 11 months of last year.
Market shares for November 2014 were:
- MGM: 41 percent
- MotorCity: 34 percent
- Greektown: 25 percent
Gaming taxes
For the month ending Nov. 30, 2014, gaming taxes for the three Detroit casinos were $8.6 million compared with $9.1 million for the same month last year.
