Detroit casino revenues and wagering taxes reported for March, first quarter

Detroit, April 11, 2017 - The three Detroit casinos’ monthly revenue rose 5 percent in March to $131.2 million compared with March 2016 results. March revenue was 11.9 percent higher than February 2017 revenue. During the first quarter, the casinos’ aggregate revenue at $360.5 million was up 2.9 percent compared with the first quarter of 2016.

March market shares were:
The three Detroit casinos paid $10.6 million in taxes to the state of Michigan during March compared with $10.1 million in March 2016. The three Detroit casinos reported submitting $15.6 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit during March.

The three Detroit casinos paid $29.2 million in gaming taxes during the first quarter of 2017 compared with $28.4 million for the same period last year.
