Detroit casino revenues and wagering taxes reported for February 2018

Detroit, March 13, 2018 – The three Detroit casinos reported $110 million in aggregate revenue during February, a 6.1 percent decline compared with February 2017 results. Year-to-date 2018 revenue dropped 3.3 percent from combined January and February 2017 revenues.

Revenue fell 4.7 percent to $45.8 million at MGM during February compared with the same month last year. MotorCity’s February revenue was down 5.6 percent to $38.3 million. Monthly revenue at Greektown dropped 9.3 percent to $25.9 million.

Monthly market shares were:

  • MGM, 42 percent
  • MotorCity, 35 percent
  • Greektown, 23 percent
  • The three Detroit casinos paid $8.9 million in gaming taxes during February compared with $9.5 million for the same month last year.

    During February, the three Detroit casinos reported submitting $13.1 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.

    "The Michigan Gaming Control Board shall ensure the conduct of fair and honest gaming to protect the interests of the citizens of the State of Michigan."
