Detroit, April 12, 2018 - The three Detroit casinos reported an overall record $138.6 million in aggregate revenue during March, which is the highest monthly total since the casinos opened in 1999 and 2000. The previous record of $135.3 million was set in March 2012.
Monthly aggregate revenue at $138.6 million was 5.7 percent higher than March 2017 results and 25.9 percent higher than February 2018 revenue.
MGM gained its highest ever monthly aggregate revenue at $58.1 million, which exceeded its previous monthly record of $57.2 million set in March 2012. MotorCity Casino also delivered its highest ever monthly aggregate revenue at $49.3 million, besting its previous record of $45.8 million set in March 2013. Greektown Casino earned its highest monthly aggregate revenue of $34.7 million in March 2013.
First-quarter 2018 aggregate revenue of $360.2 million dropped a fractional 0.1 percent from last year’s first-quarter results.

The March monthly market shares were:
During March, the three Detroit casinos paid $11.2 million in state gaming taxes compared with $10.6 million in March 2017. The three Detroit casinos paid $29.18 million in state gaming taxes during the first quarter compared with $29.20 million during the first quarter of 2017.
The three Detroit casinos reported submitting $16.5 million in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit during March.
