Northville Downs to add eight days to 2019 race meet under Gaming Control Board order

Detroit, Sept. 11, 2019 - Northville Downs will offer live standardbred horse racing on eight additional dates on weekends in November and December through an order issued this week by Michigan Gaming Control Board Executive Director Richard S. Kalm. The additional dates are Nov. 22, 23, 29 and 30 and Dec. 6, 7, 13 and 14.

“It’s good for both horse racing fans and for the industry when the horsemen’s association and the track have enough resources available to extend the racing season,” Kalm said.

For 2019, Northville Downs originally requested 44 days of live standardbred racing, and the dates were granted in an Oct. 31, 2018, order. The race meet would have ended on Nov. 16 without the eight-day extension.

Most recently, Northville Downs extended live racing in 2017 when the track requested and received six additional race days.
